VOTO (Voice of the Ocean) is an organization that bridges the gap between ocean science and society. Through research, education, and storytelling, it makes the ocean visible, understood, and protected – empowering communities and future generations to engage with the ocean and shape a better future together.
The visual identity is grounded in the brand promise “bringing the ocean to light” by paradoxically revealing the ocean’s depth. Inspired by layered oceanographic maps and the interplay between surface and depth, the identity took shape alongside a tone that is innovative, energetic, and human. Because the organization spans multiple areas, the identity was designed to be broad and flexible, adaptable across a range of content and contexts.
With this visual identity, VOTO invites the viewer to connect and to feel what it’s like to look closer, dive deeper, and begin to see the ocean for what it truly is.
